The Tujunga Little League baseball players are going to have to wait a little bit longer until their baseball field is back to normal. Tujunga Little League was scheduled to get replacement artificial turf after it was stolen from them a few weeks back. Unfortunately, a storm front was forecasted to be moving in during the same time the field was going to be installed. This increment weather pushed back the installation of the artificial grass by one week. The grand re-opening is now going to be taking place on December 10th. A representative from the Los Angeles Dodgers will be there to help celebrate and commemorate the re-opening of the tee-ball field.
There was an official press release about the change of date. The full press release can be read here:
A rainy forecast has delayed the installation of replacement artificial grass at the Tujunga Little League field. This comes as a disappointment for the Artificial Grass Liquidators staff and the tee-ball players who are eager to get back on the field. The installation of the field has been postponed one week. Installation will begin on the 9th and the grand re-opening event will take place on Wednesday December 10th at 3:00 p.m.
Tujunga Little League had artificial turf stolen from their field on Saturday, November 8th. This particular turf field had been installed specifically for the four to six year old players. It was installed over a very rocky area that was unusable until the synthetic turf was installed. Once the field was stolen the young players had no where safe to play baseball.
“It’s too bad that rainy weather is going to postpone the scheduled installation of the fields. We were hoping to get the turf installed as soon as possible for the kids,” said Dillon Georgian, co-owner of Artificial Grass Liquidators.
The league would find it difficult to replace the stolen turf. The cost of the turf alone is as much revenue as the league generates from player registration for an entire season.
Artificial Grass Liquidators became aware of the incident and stepped forward to help out. Artificial Grass Liquidators is donating recycled artificial turf from a local college baseball field and will be performing the installation of the turf as well. Artificial Grass Liquidators’ associated trade partner will be donating disinfection and maintenance services free of charge for one year.
